Review Exam #3
General:
The major topics on this exam include photosynthesis,
respiration, mitosis and meiosis. Essentially everything we covered in
lecture, including various worksheets & handoouts, is "fair game." The
exam will be very similar to the previous ones; mostly multiple choice with some
short answer/other type questions. Bring a pencil.
For the metabolic pathways, things to consider are: what is the purpose/function of the process? where does it occur? why does it occur? what are the starting materials and endproducts? where do these materials enter/leave each pathway/cycle? I will try to focus on the "forest" rather than individual "trees." Thus, you don't have to memorize individual steps during, say glycolysis, but you do need to be able to explain what is occurring during the process.
I encourage you to answer all of the questions at the end of each chapter, do the quizzes on-line/CD and check out some of my on-line study guides. Remember - the quizzes for Chapters 9, 10, 12, 13 are due on Tuesday at 9:00 AM.
Photosynthesis:
Check out the PowerPoint in the Public Folder and I
have posted some online notes that might
be of assistance. Also don't forget the
classics handout and
sheets distributed in class.
Respiration:
Check out the Powerpoint in the Public Folder and I have some
online notes and a
study guide that might be of assistance.
Don't forget the Gink & Go Crayon
dialog.
Mitosis:
Check out the Powerpoint in the Public Folder and my
online notes and
study guide.
Meiosis:
Check out the PowerPoint in the Public Folder and my
online notes and
study guide.
