Dear fellow departmental webmaster,
Many of us have taken on a new role in our academic careers--
departmental webmaster. Yet, little is known about what we
do, why we do it, or the impact of our work. I would like to
find out a little about others who have undertaken such an
initiative. I'm hoping to eventually publish some
information on what I find out, and I'll be using the results
of the survey in a pre-conference workshop I will be giving
at the American Association for Higher Education's Forum on
Faculty Roles and Rewards conference in January. The focus
of the workshop is departmental technology initiatives, with
a focus on departmental web pages (for more information, see
../ffrr/). Whether or not
you are a faculty member, I would still like to hear from
you.
I ask that you take a few minutes of your time to respond to
this questionnaire and return it to me by e-mail. If you can
spare the time, I would be most appreciative if you could add
comments to your responses, especially in the second part of
the survey. I will summarize the results (including selected
comments), and send a copy to those who respond to this
survey.
For those questions asking for a numerical response, please
indicate your answer by writing the number at the beginning
of the question.
Thank you for your time.
