  1. The text describes four misuses and misinterpretations of the sociocultural perspective. Give a real world example of each of these four misuses. (2 pts.)



  2. What is the difference between a high-context culture and a low-context culture? What is the difference between a monochronic culture and a polychronic culture? (2 pts.)



  3. Recently there have been several violent crimes (hate crimes) against gays, including an assaualt on a gay women at St. Cloud State University. These hate crimes are often based on prejudice against homosexuals or homosexuality. Using the concepts from chapter 13 and 14, describe the sources of prejudice against gays and how that prejudice can be reduced. (6 pts.)
