Resources for recovered/false memory:

One of the most hotly contested areas of psychology in the last few years has been the reliability of recovered memories. Here are some relevant links:

• False Memory Syndrome Foundation (FMSF) homepage. (http://advicom.com/~fitz/fmsf/) Includes links to their newsletter, articles on the subject and an explanation of what the syndrome is. Also includes frequently asked Q and A’s.
• The Multiple Personality resource Center argues against the FMSF. (http://www.asarian.org/~astraea/abuse/fmindex.html) Their Main home page is worth a visit.
• Childhood memories Q&A. (http://www.apa.org/pubinfo/mem.html)
• Delson-Kokish Associates (http://www.northcoast.com/~dka/caution.htm) present a pro/con discussion of FMS. They also list several relevant sites. (http://www.northcoast.com/~dka/sites.htm) They counsel victims, so evaluate their site in light of their viewpoint as expressed on their main page. (http://www.northcoast.com/~dka/)

Revelations:

• Book of Revelations, King James version
• Astounding Bible Revelations out of South Africa.

• An e-mail I recently received from one of my former students, Sean Bober, pretty much sums it all up.
• Urban Legends from The Mining Company. An excellent resource submitted by David Kieffer. This one may be the best of the lot. Be sure to check out the College legend link on the right. Also check out their links to other beliefs/cultures.
• The San Fernando Valley Folklore Society's Urban Legends Reference Pages.
  Lot's of legends, but you had better have a T1 line--lot's of Java applets make it slow otherwise.
  • You can check out my personal favorite, Roommate's suicide results in automatic 4.0, on this site. Most students surveyed at CSB/SJU believe this is true. It's not, here or at any other college.
• Urban Legends Archive.
  This is the place to start for Urban Legends.

• Urban legends (mostly academic) from The NET Magazine For PENN STATE STUDENTS
  A good place for college students to go to--you've no doubt heard (and believed) many of these.
• Monkeyburgers. In Holland, where this site is located, urban legends are called `broodje aap verhalen' which can be translated as `Monkeyburgers'.
• Herb Urban travels the world.
  Herb tells some stories he's heard in his travels.
• Urban Legends--The Skeptic Tank. An extensive repository of Urban Legends. You click on the ones you want, and they're e-mailed to you.
