Mitosis Figures:   Obtain a copy of the diagrams of mitosis and then answer the following questions:

  1. Complete the table by naming each stage shown in the diagrams and then describe what occurs during each stage.

Meiosis Figures:  Obtain a copy of the diagrams of meiosis.  Then answer the following questions.

1.  Assume that diagram "A" represents a sex cell in interphase before meiosis.  Further assume that the diploid number of this cell is 8 (2n = 8).  For each figure, indicate whether it is:  (a) is haploid (n) or diploid (2n); (b) the number of chromosomes in the cell; (c) the name of the stage; (d) whether the diagram depicts meiosis I or II; and (e) a brief description of what is occuring.
