Reduce to 13% the proportion of adults (18 and older) who use tobacco products (baseline 24.7).
Increase by at least 1 year the avg. first use age of tobacco products by adolescents (base 12.4 yrs).
Include evidence based tobacco use prevention in the curricula in *percent of elem, middle, and secondary schools, preferably as comprehensive school education.
Increase to 95% the proportion of 8th, 10th & 12th graders who disapprove of use of one or more packs of cigarettes per day (base 80% of 8th, 73% of 10th, 67% of 12th 1997)
Increase to 95% the proportion of 8th graders who associate harm with tobacco use (base 52.6%).
