OUpper Midwest County-Average Radon

Counties are color coded by their average indoor radon concentration in pCi/L. These averages were based on a normalized data set of 272,000 screening measurements conducted by the Univ. of Pittsburgh Radon Project, the EPA, and state surveys as reported by Dr. B.L. Cohen in Critical Reviews in Environmental Control 33:243-364(1992). Screening measurements are generally not as reflective of the long term average concentrations as are yearlong ATD measurements.
