Of Time's Passage in the Empire

The year has its seasons, and the day its hours, just as those known to the Players, save that the hours of the day number only twenty. 

The new year is celebrated during the Arpinsheu, the Vernal Equinox week in the ancient Druidic traditions of the Elves. The passage of a year sees sixteen months, with four additional weeks, each to begin a new season. Each month numbers 25 or 26 days; the year numbers 433 days. After the Arpinsheu, then follow the months of spring, Silarpin, Falarpin, Resharpin, and Kularpin.  This leads to the Simostrea, Summer Solstice week, and the summer months, Kaisimos, Dursimos, Ferimos, and Halsimos. The season turns with the Elothsheu and the autumn months Kureloth, Taneloth, Sileloth, Baneloth. The Chaibartrea and the winter months of Ackchaibar, Sunchaibar, Drenchaibar, and Odenchaibar complete the turn of a year.

The hours of each day belong to one of four elemental deities. The first hour of the day is that which begins with the sunrise during the Arpinsheu. The first five hours, sunrise to noon, belong to Quan. The hours of the afternoon are Krie's. Cheu's hours are those of the evening and the night belongs to Sair.

The establishment of the Empire and ascendancy of Arie'Tsai, the First Tintajjilat, 638 years past, has come to mark the beginning of this reckoning of years.
