Plant and Seed

Sale & Swap

Each year, in the spring (usually in mid-May), the St. John's Community Garden Society sponsors a one-day plant and seed exchange.

How does it work?

On a designated date and time, we bring the plants or seeds we want to exchange and we exchange them. Very simple.

We've had everything from houseplants to whole flats of herbs to vegetable plants to some pretty impressively sized perennials.

Anyone who doesn't have seeds or plants to exchange can buy plants at a reasonable price agreed upon by buyer/seller.

Any proceeds raised provides funding for on-campus activities such as our spring seed ordering and campus community garden plot.

In 2012, we will be having the plant and seed exchange on Wednesday, May 16th outside the SJU Science Department greenhouse. Please contact Don Neu or Bonnie Woodard for more information if you're interested in participating.
