Payment Schedule               

Actual cost per participant is $6100. 

 Because of a grant given to the Saint John's University Men's Center, many of the costs of this  trip will be paid, bringing the cost per participant to $4900.

*Grants of $800 available for participants who... 

1. complete a 5-day service component interviewing young Buddhist monks and speaking English with them; and

2. write up your research findings.

3. Contribute to the upbeat and eager ethos of the group. 

For those who receive the grant, the cost of the trip will be about  $4100*

 

__    Deposit of $200 due  as soon as you can after being accepted to reserve your spot.  For those applying for the $800 grant, we advise you to submit your deposit in November.  Earlier deposits can be to your advantage. Note: Because of flight and hotel charges, this $200 deposit is not refundable after February 28.

$2400*    Final payment due  April 6, 2008

* These amounts could change slightly because of unforeseen costs or change in the strength of the dollar. 
We will keep you informed about any fee changes.  As you know, the Olympics in China are shifting costs of travel to China quite dramatically.  we will know soon about the specific costs involved in flying to Tibet and exploring the Mount Everest Base Camp.

If you take active part in the volunteer and research aspects of the trip, you will be refunded $800 in August when we return.  This would bring your overall cost to about $4100.*              

Note: These payments should be made on or before the dates listed. 

These fees include airfare from Minneapolis to Delhi, land travel through India and Nepal, flight to Tibet and return; lodging in Delhi, Dharamsala, Katmandu, and Lhasa; dinners with the group (4 or more as the budget allows); museum and monastery entrances, city guides, Tibetan Himalayas guide.
