Themes of the Course


The themes of this course include the following -- Poetry, Human Wildness, Nature, Family Relations, War and Holocaust, The Experience of Love and Sexuality, The Beauty of Things, The Moment, Identity and Voice, Rage, Grief, Non-Attachment, Epiphany, Death and the Afterlife.   Many of the poets and poems we have covered are listed here.  Other poets and poems emerged in your April and May presentations.  For your final exercise, you will be asked to memorize lines from about 65 poems, some of the following poems you will be asked to learn by heart.in their entirety.
